I might pre order to get the code then just cancel it later. I am not big on COD I like Battlefield more. Then there is Destiny.

I will certainly be attempting to pre-order to get the shader and cancel afterward. I might try Amazon first. Fine print reads you have to pre-order before 9/21.

I believe, Activision is more so behind this than Gamestop as they run both CoD and Destiny from a financial point of view, and Gamestop wouldn't have the power or authority to give you in game items that the Dev wasn't pushing to them.
I will more than likely get it, I will pay a dollar and just never pick it up. CoD is Gar Bahj!

How can you pay 1$? I think the minimum where I live is 5$, i'd love to pay 1$ for that shader though.

Pretty sure, I've put down less than $5 but could be incorrect, i'll just do what I did with watch dogs, pre-order, never show up rent the game come in a few days later and say I got it as a gift can i transfer it to another game.

Haha I forgot activision was apart of this, but at the same time, gamestop stands to make an extra $5 for all preorders, since they can't be refunded only transferred. So I guess both are guilty.
Edit: Maybe I'll preorder and than transfer the 5 towards my dragon age payment

This link has all shaders in game. The shader is titled Blacksmith in the link and appears to be the same set up as what is being offered for the CoD swag. I could be mistaken, but would that mean that this shader isn't even exclusive? If it is already in the game, why would they have people pre-order a game for it? So you could instantly have access to it at 20, rather than buying it with glimmer or whatever else would be required?
Maybe I'm missing something, which is definitely a possibility.

Any content that becomes "Unlocked" via codes is already in the game. People simply get to unlock it with codes.

Hmm, I don't know. I wouldn't put it past them to market it just to increase pre-orders for CoD: Recycled Warfare. I'm convinced we'll find it in-game.
On a separate note, there is a clause on Gamestop's site that says once a dlc or preorder code is issued and used, it does not allow cancellations of preorders. Has anyone tried anything like this before with success?

Yah, that's a blanket statement to try and dissuade people from doing it. "Sure, you can get the code then cancel!" This wouldn't make a very good ploy to sell more games. I get codes, then never pick up a game. Digital orders are handled differently then doing it at the store, you may want to ask someone that's preordered digitally before, I have not. (canceled a digital pre-order, that is)
